wedding photographer Melbourne. We had a very very happy day with Justin + Thao! Their very kind testimonial (below) explains it best :D "I've been following the White Heights Media crew now for around 3 years. When our wedding came up, we made contact right away, for video, and after meeting Kaiwin, we knew we wanted him to be at our wedding for photography. He is the most easy going, calm and friendliest person you will ever meet. After the pre wedding shoot, we were so excited by the photos. The photos from the wedding day itself were even better and so so beautiful. Kaiwin is an expert at using light in his photographs, Justin has said on countless occasions. The video team were very friendly and cheeky, Handy, Chris & David. They made a beautiful same day edit video. I've already seen it about 20 times because i'm so in love with their work :) From making my decision of wanting them for my wedding 3 years ago, to our engagement and our wedding day, it was been wonderful working with Kaiwin and the boys. I said this to them on the night, and I'm going to say it again. These guys made my dreams come true, by delivering amazing photos and a video that will help me remember this special day for the rest of my life. Thank you! Love Justin & Thao"
One of the newest words to be make it into the dictionary (as of 2013), also made it into Jordan + Ruth's wedding :D Lots of selfies, lots of fun. The White Heights style, whenever possible, is known for high key, soft, warm pastels (like the 1st picture below). But that style of natural wedding photography is somewhat dependent on the environment's available light. What do we do when conditions don't allow this? What do we do with super bright, single direction, high contrast, overhead light (like in the 2nd picture below)? And what about multiple sources of light, varying in temperature, tone and strength (like in the 3rd picture below)? When it comes to natural wedding photography in Melbourne, we need to shoot things as they occur, not how we direct or cause them to be. We don't need to control the behavior of the variables (the subjects and the light), but we can control how we capture these variables, and still produce work that is consistent in style, as shown in the 3 photos above. For all their differences, we can control framing (how we treat the edge limits of the shot), composition (how we arrange the subjects of the shot) and blacks (tones that contain little to no color information). When our treatment of these variables is consistent, we begin to define our own distinguishable style. And it's consistency after all, that defines style.
Emily and Alvin booked the White Heights team to take care of their wedding photography and wedding video. Their wedding included both contemporary western and traditional Chinese wedding elements. Here's a small collection of photos from their gatecrashing door games. Activities like these will usually see a groom pay in blood, sweat and dollars so he can see his bride. But obviously it's all worth it :) Natural wedding photography Melbourne by White Heights Media :)
You can usually find some solid composition rules behind our natural style of wedding photography in Melbourne. Sometimes this is subtle, and sometimes it's loud and obvious like in this photo: - internal framing, - the rule of thirds, - converging lines, - triple depth. This is usually more technical than you'll see in our natural wedding photography, but it's still a nice shot of Hilianty and David enjoying the view at the Point Lonsdale Lighthouse. Hair and Makeup by the always talented Amy Lo :) Tracy + George were referred to us through their friends who had previously booked us for their engagement photography (Stacey + Michael). We shot their PreWedding photos about 6 months before their wedding, so they had a better idea what to expect on their wedding day :) I really enjoyed myself with them, and I found them really easy to work work (shown in the shots below, and there are more in our client section for you to check out). Abbey + Luke were married at the end of Spring, and we enjoyed a day of celebrating in beautiful weather. Abbey is the sister of James (one of the White Heights lead shooters), so we were able to work very closely with the couple, as we shot their wedding photos and wedding video. Monica and Mina booked White Heights for their wedding video and wedding photography at the end of spring. We had previously shot Mina's brother's wedding (you can see some of the happy photos we shot for Basil + Maryam's wedding here), so we saw many familiar faces during their wedding. We really enjoyed shooting the abundant traditional and contemporary elements. Thanks for booking us :) Natural wedding photography Melbourne by White Heights Media :)

Marissa + Jon are old Church friends, so it was great to be at their wedding! They booked us for the wedding photography and wedding video. We saw many familiar faces, which is always nice :) We had also shot their PREwedding photos previously, so they have a very nice collection. You can see their natural prewedding photos here.
